George H. Laufenberg Scholarship
In 1996, the George H. Laufenberg Scholarship Fund was established as a way to give back to our Carpenter family by lending a helping hand to deserving young men and women so that they may go on to college to achieve their dreams. Since its founding, the Fund has awarded 330 scholarships, totaling over $2 million to the children and grandchildren of union carpenters. The recipients of this scholarship have gone on to graduate from MIT, Brown University, Rutgers University, The State University of New York, Duke University, Harvard University, Bucknell University, The College of New Jersey and more.
I am proud to announce this scholarship is now open to all Northeast Regional Council members throughout New York and New Jersey. Expanded access to this benefit was made possible by a $100K donation to the George H. Laufenberg Scholarship Fund by the Northeast Regional Council. This is a welcome opportunity for the children and grandchildren of our New York State members since future awards from the Empire State Carpenters Scholarship Fund were discontinued last year.
For information on eligibility you can call 800-624-3096 x322 or visit the New Jersey Carpenters Funds
